Job Description

The LIMS Information Technology (IT) Manager plays an essential leadership role in the management, implementation, and optimization of Laboratory Information Management Systems within a scientific or research-focused organization. The LIMS IT Manager acts as the bridge between laboratory operations, IT, and business stakeholders, ensuring that the laboratory’s data management requirements align with best practices, regulatory compliance, and organizational objectives. This position requires strong technical expertise, demonstrated leadership abilities, and an in-depth understanding of laboratory processes and information systems.

• LIMS Management and Administration:
• Oversee the full lifecycle management of the Laboratory Information Management System, including selection, deployment, configuration, customization, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Ensure high system availability, security, and data integrity.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures for LIMS usage and data management.

Work Experience

• 5+ years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a laboratory informatics or LIMS-focused role.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, data management principles, and regulatory requirements in scientific environments.
• Hands-on experience with LIMS platforms (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage, SampleManager).
• Working knowledge of system integration (e.g., APIs, middleware) and laboratory instrument connectivity.
• Proficiency in database management, scripting, and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and team-building skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.

Education
