Job summary
An HR Manager is responsible for delivering on our company’s strategy by building, retaining, and developing world-class talent across MillerKnoll’s HK and Australia teams. You will play an important role in building and fostering our growth and MillerKnoll culture across diverse employee populations. Your role will be to act as a business partner to the employees and leaders by understanding their unique needs and business objectives and providing advice on human resource programs and practices in support of those objectives. You will be working with around 70 employees in Hongkong and 30 employees in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to join a people focused growing business whilst also being a part of MillerKnoll global HR team.

Inside the Job
- Serves as a trusted strategic partner and advisor to leaders responsible for leading and influencing the human resources function for the organization, including talent acquisition, employee relations and retention, compensation, culture development, workforce planning, change management, diversity and inclusion, compliance, and organizational development and training.
- Acts and thinks independently as a highly knowledgeable human resources professional who approaches management and employee issues as a fully accountable business partner.
- Coordinates and delivers learning and development activities as required, building competence and workplace performance.
- Evaluates and diagnoses human resource-related issues that impact the effectiveness of the client group; identify and implement creative solutions for specific organizational issues that affect the client group.
- Partners closely with COE team and functional HRBP to support global initiatives and manage/lead special HR project initiatives.
- Supports leadership to develop the MillerKnoll culture and drive employee engagement by optimizing our employee engagement participation and feedback systems.
- Provides coaching, counsel and guidance to people leaders on complex employee relations issues, independently conducts investigations, and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Be the strategic advisor/owner to drive or support the local DEIB and BRG initiatives
- Support payroll team to ensure smooth payroll delivery
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Job holder requirements
- Degree Level Qualification or Professional HR qualification
- Minimum of 8 years successful professional experience in a variety of human resources disciplines including learning and development, employment law, performance management, employee relations
- Experience of supporting relevant industry would be preferred
- Above reproach on issues of integrity and trust. Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, build trust and interact/communicate with employees from all levels of the organisation, and all cultures
- Has strong cultural awareness cross countries. It is a plus to have past experience supporting leaders & employees in Australia or other countries
- Demonstrated leadership competence as defined in MillerKnoll’s Leadership Principals and Practices
- Strong change management and project management skills
- Able to use IT systems and processes effectively including HRIT systems knowledge
- Able to think strategically and execute tactically
- Good communication skills – verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation
- Financially literate
- Business acumen to partner effectively with clients
- Experience of working in a global HR team and a COE model is preferred
- Cantonese language is required
