The College of Arts & Creative Enterprises

The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (with majors in Animation Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Visual Art) and a Bachelor of Architecture. It also offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia Design in collaboration with the College of Communication and Media Sciences and the College of Technological Innovation.

Candidates joining the college will be able to contribute to its growth and initiatives, advocating for innovative practices.

The Opportunity

CACE seeks qualified candidates to teach in the area of interior design and interior architecture, including adaptive reuse of interiors, exhibitions and museum spaces, and material matters.

The successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the growth and development of the Interior Design program within the College. This will involve building strong relationships with the local industry and institutions, actively participating in the Internship Program, and supporting an integrated approach to the curriculum. The candidate will encourage students to consider their future careers within local and global contexts, ensuring they are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and tools to succeed in the field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate versatility, cultural awareness, forward-thinking, and expertise in leading design technologies

Qualifications

The Requirements

Applicants must hold a terminal degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, and demonstrate a strong record of professional and academic achievements. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and will be expected to teach both introductory and advanced-level courses in design and technology. Administrative experience is considered an asset.

Candidates should be flexible and capable of teaching a wide range of undergraduate courses within the Interior Design program. In addition to studio classes, other areas of instruction may include furniture design, finishes, lighting, interior construction, technology, sustainable design, and design representation. Proficiency in digital design software and experience with 3D printing and laser cutting will be considered advantageous.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a deep understanding of the local cultural context and the built environment. This sensitivity to local issues and contexts should be integrated into the classroom, fostering a broader understanding of design that is both globally informed and locally relevant.

Classes will be taught in person, and the selected candidates will be based in the UAE
