The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The Department has 115 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment towards teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency and fellowship programmes are integrated into the academic functions of the department.

The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Fellow Medical Officer, Peripheral Vascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
- conduct one/two clinics in the CC/CHC/satellite stations, recruit patients with Arthroplasty problems, and follow these patients appropriately during inpatient care under the concerned admitting/attending Consultant
- report to faculty on matters arising in daily patient care
- engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as assigned
- perform procedures as per the outline highlighted in the PGME Performa for fellowship approval
- perform initial assessment, documentation, and follow-up of patients before being seen by the Consultant
- attend calls from the ER promptly
- follow-up with patients in the recovery room and hand over patients to recovery Room personnel, while also document findings and management plan
- perform daily ward rounds with the members of the team and communicate findings, assessment, and plan to the Consultant
- attend call from home and tend to patient in ER/Ward if needed
- facilitate learning of students and other health care professionals
Requirements:
You should have:
- an MBBS from an institution recognized by PMDC
- one year of house job or internship, of which six months should be in Medicine and allied and six months in Surgery and allied disciplines
- FCPS Part II or equivalent in General Surgery is preferred
- four years of training in General Surgery in an accredited and reputable programme
- a valid PMDC license.
