Associate Director, Compliance & Risk

Your Role
As Associate Director, Compliance & Risk, you will play a key leadership role within the APAC Risk & Compliance team in Hong Kong and Japan. Reporting to the Head of Hong Kong Compliance, you will oversee the implementation of compliance frameworks, provide strategic and operational compliance advice, and ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements and internal policies across both business lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Deputy MLRO for CSC Hong Kong entities, supporting AML/CFT/CPF compliance.
- Provide expert compliance and regulatory advice on client onboarding, business activities, and risk assessments across both business units.
- Lead the development and execution of compliance monitoring programs, thematic reviews, and transaction oversight.
- Liaise with local regulators and industry bodies, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and inspections.
- Manage internal investigations, complaints, and audit responses related to compliance matters.
- Deliver compliance training and induction programs to new and existing staff across the business.
- Prepare and present compliance reports and management information to senior stakeholders.
- Support the HK Lead as they work closely with the Regional Compliance Director in regional initiatives and contribute to APAC-wide compliance projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a strong compliance culture and ensure business alignment with regulatory expectations.
Your Profile
- Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience in a compliance or risk function, preferably within financial services, trust, corporate services.
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong regulatory environment, including AML/CFT/CPF framework.
- Professional certification in compliance (e.g., ACAMS or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage complex compliance matters and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Cantonese proficiency is an advantage.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
