Platform Engineer - Azure

Mō te tūranga | About the role  

As a Platform Engineer, you will collaborate with various squads across the organisation to support Azure initiatives. You'll engage in exciting projects utilising the latest Cloud technologies to drive successful outcomes and promote public cloud adoption. 

Within the Public Cloud Squad, we emphasise automation and infrastructure as code. You will have the autonomy to innovate and creatively address challenges, aiming to simplify infrastructure while maintaining high standards of compliance, security, and design. 

Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do  

• Design, build, and maintain automation processes to streamline operations.
• Operate and manage cloud services, ensuring reliability and performance. Administration across the Azure platform. 
• Support squads in deploying cloud workloads, providing guidance and expertise. 
• Develop and implement cloud patterns to accelerate cloud adoption across the organisation. 
• Maintain and enhance the cloud control framework, ensuring compliance with industry standards. 
• Identify and implement optimisation opportunities for cloud services to improve performance and reduce costs. 

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? 

• Understanding of observability and system monitoring.  
• Understanding of compliance configuration and monitoring. 
• 3-5 Years of experience in similar roles.
• Understanding of CI/CD, including Jenkins and version control.
• Understanding with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform and ARM Templates. 
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python and PowerShell.
• Experience with Docker and Linux based systems.
• Understanding of knowledge of cloud hybrid networking, including VirtualWAN and Express Route.
• Understanding of Azure Landing Zones.
• Comprehensive understanding of core Azure services.

Nice To Have Skills:

Chef, Ruby, Groovy, Ansible, Atlassian tools set, Markdown, Dynatrace, PagerDuty, Azure DevOps, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform 

Preferred Qualifications:

Azure Certifications desirable not essential 

• Az-104 (Administrator Associate)

• Az-305 (Solution Architect)
