Mō te tūranga | About the Role

As the Financial Crime Investigations Manager, you will lead the Auckland-based investigations team, managing daily operations through meeting Sla and performance objectives and effectively managing resources. You’ll foster a culture of empathy and customer service, especially when supporting victims of fraud.

As the Financial Crime Investigations Manager, you will ensure the team operates efficiently within bank policies, driving strong customer outcomes and continuous improvement, while meeting regulatory obligations.

Reporting and compliance will be part of your remit, alongside coaching and capability development using quality assurance insights. You’ll provide onsite support, oversee financial crime investigations, and promote a proactive fraud and AML culture across the organisation.

Additionally, you’ll support strategic initiatives and respond to industry changes, including those driven by NZBA and government expectations.

  • Proven experience in an investigative or analytical role within financial services, government, or law enforcement.

  • Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in challenging environments.

  • Strong leadership experience managing large teams.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and reasoning skills.

Desirable:

  • In-depth knowledge of fraud and financial crime.

  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • A customer-centric mindset with a focus on retention and service excellence.

  • Experience in leadership development and training.
