Job Purpose: Lead - AGL is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of Aeronautical Ground Lighting systems to maximize system availability and operational reliability. This role ensures that AGL systems adhere to safety, regulatory, and compliance standards on a 24x7 basis, contributing to the seamless function of airport operations as per DGCA, ICAO, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Budgeting And Cost Efficiency:

Develop and manage the budget for AGL maintenance and upgrades, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.

Optimize resource allocation to meet operational and maintenance needs.

24/7 System Maintenance and Operational Support:

Lead the round-the-clock maintenance team to guarantee 100% operational availability of the AGL systems, focusing on optimal customer support across airport divisions and stakeholders.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges promptly, ensuring consistent performance and minimal downtime.

Handing over taking over, Operation & Maintenance of Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL)System and other low side Air Side electrical infrastructure.

Regulatory Compliance And Safety Adherence:

Ensure AGL systems comply with DGCA, ICAO, and other regulatory requirements, conducting regular tests and maintenance activities, including photometric testing and PAPI calibration.

Oversee safety measures and environmental standards, establishing protocols to uphold a zero-harm environment within airside operations.

Responsible for regulatory Compliance identification of 5S areas & Active Participation in 5S audit, Kaizen, Internal audit, DGCA inspection etc.

Vendor Management:

Participate in the tendering process and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms for maintenance, upgrades, and supply of critical components.

Evaluate and select vendors for AGL systems and equipment based on quality, cost, and compliance with technical specifications.

Risk Management & Safety:

Identify potential risks associated with AGL system failures and implement mitigation plans.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols during maintenance activities to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.

Preventive And Predictive Maintenance Planning:

Develop and monitor maintenance schedules, tracking adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance to extend the operational lifespan and reliability of AGL equipment.

Ensure timely inspections and servicing to minimize breakdowns and sustain high operational standards, utilizing predictive maintenance insights for proactive planning.

Stakeholder Coordination And Sop Development:

Foster strong coordination with internal stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to streamline operations and improve AGL system efficiency.

Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs/PM/BM strategies) for AGL operations, maintenance, and vendor management, aligning them with company goals for safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Energy Conservation And Sustainability Efforts:

Monitor and optimize power usage within AGL systems, implementing strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Integrate energy-saving techniques and monitor load management, tracking power consumption metrics for sustainable energy practices.

Education Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering; MBA in Operations Management (preferred).

Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) to enhance maintenance and reliability practices.

Project Management Professional (PMP) to strengthen project management skills specific to operational projects.

Work Experience:

10+ years in power systems up to 33 KV, HVAC up to 5010 TR, PBB, BHS with at least 5 years specializing in AGL systems and airport operations.

Certifications:

Certification in AGL systems (ICAO/FAA/DGCA preferred).

Awareness of safety protocols in high-risk environments.
