MCB’s Trade Finance Operations BU, within our Banking Operations SBU, plays a key role in guiding customers engaged in import and export of goods & services and handling the processing of their trade finance needs.

We are on the lookout for:

Job vacancy: Trade Finance Operations Supervisor

The Trade Finance Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operations of trade finance transactions. She/He will be responsible for processing and validating trade finance transactions. She/He will ensure that the team operates efficiently and that all transactions meet quality and compliance standards.

In this role you will,

• Supervise and monitor the work of a team to ensure that processes and procedures are properly implemented and that the team is achieving defined standards;

• Execute trade finance transactions as per escalation process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures;

• Provide a quality service to customers within an assigned client portfolio;

• Assist in monitoring the daily activities of the trade finance operations team;

• Attend to and ensure prompt resolution of queries and complaints received from internal and external customers;

• Assist with training and onboarding new team members;

• Monitor and attend to queries received from Customers, Lines of Business and Banks to ensure they are being attended to within set frame;

• Verify and validate documents and transactions as per escalation process, to ensure genuineness and exactness of transactions so as to avoid financial and reputational risk;

• Live and display the MCB brand and values in all daily activities, whilst also ensuring direct reports do the same, in order to uphold and further strengthen the MCB brand internally and externally.

We are looking for candidates who have:

EITHER

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field;

• A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in Trade Finance Operations or Banking Sector.

OR

• At least 5 years’ working experience in Trade Finance Operations or Banking Sector.

AND

• Strong understanding of trade finance products, processes and documentation;

• Effective time-management and organizational skills;

• Ability to provide technical expertise and guidance to team members;

• Team leadership skills;

• Experience in managing team performance.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
