Description
As part of CRCD’s Fund Development & Grants Administration team, the Compliance Specialist monitors the organization’s public- and private-grant portfolio by ensuring every program, participant file, and cost adheres to contractual, regulatory, and audit requirements. Reporting to the Grants Manager, the role develops and updates compliance policies, conducts internal audits and external site-visit preparations, and trains staff on intake and documentation standards. By proactively surfacing risks and driving corrective actions, the Specialist helps steward revenue, maintain the compliance health of the organization, and helps ensure program teams focus on program impact and outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Position roles and responsibilities included, but are not limited to:
- Develop & update compliance policies and procedures for every new or amended grant and ensure organizational practices stay aligned with grant requirements.
- Attend grant kick-offs and capture regulatory obligations, eligibility criteria, and documentation standards that apply across multiple grants.
- Collaborate with program staff to set up file-management protocols, run monthly file reviews, and verify eligibility documentation to prevent disallowed costs.
- Perform internal compliance audits across all departments; write formal audit report findings and helps track corrective-action plans.
- Produce compliance-health reports for leadership to demonstrate compliance growth and areas of improvement.
- Design and facilitate training and materials on program and/or project specific compliance policies.
- Ensure all programs and/or projects implement quality assurance plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- 2 or more years of experience in non-profit compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of database management and quality control processes. Experience with Efforts-to-Outcomes (ETO), Salesforce, or other case management software, highly preferred.
SALARY
$51,000.00 - $60,000.00 annually
