Tennis Shop Attendant

Job Type Part-time Description

General Summary:  Responsible for daily office and pro shop operation. Open and close Pro Shop demonstrating efficient operation of Shop.  Also perform clerical duties to assistant the Director of Tennis.

Essential Job Functions:

This is a weekend position only 

• Answer telephone in a professional friendly manner
• Open, operate and close Jonas Point-of-Sale program
• Sell merchandise to members.
• Insure proper billing to all members
• Create some marketing material, as needed, for tennis events
• Charge out lessons and clinics as needed
• Generate enthusiasm and help promote tennis events.
• Inform Head Professional when supplies are low
• Maintains bulletin boards in a timely fashion for special events and promotions, coordinates with communication manager for posters and flyers
• Responsible for logging all guests that come to the courts
• Ensures all players are dressed in appropriate attire and following our club’s rules and regulations
• Monitors towel supply
• Makes confirmation calls to members for upcoming events
• Be knowledgeable to communicate to members and staff regarding all tennis events and programs
• Convey to Director and Head Professional all member complaints immediately
• Keep Pro Shop clean by running the vacuum, dusting, and cleaning windows on a daily basis
• Stock bathrooms with towels and insure enough towels are on hand in Pro Shop for members
• Maintain lesson book and daily tennis log
• Attendance and punctuality are critical due to the impact on other
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Must be able to maintain good relations with other employees, supervisors and members.
• Computer literate with Publisher, Excel & WORD as well as other Microsoft Office products.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds.
