About the Role

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies is seeking a skilled Care & Custody Technician who will ensure world-class technical support for our Maintenance team in Hillerød, Denmark. This position focuses on driving maintenance-related projects and activities. 

As the Project/Start-up Care & Custody Technician for Maintenance, you will own and finalize deliverables related to Utilities, Drug Substance Manufacturing (DSM), and Head Block. You will be responsible for meeting customer expectations, ensuring safety and quality compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting planning activities. In collaboration with Supervisors from Utility, Drug Substance (DS), and Metrology & Maintenance, you will plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance-related tasks during the project phase. You will also work closely with a skilled construction manager and be part of a cross-functional team within Technical Operations and Maintenance (TOM). 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Mechanical Completion Walk-Downs: Participate in pre-mechanical completion walk-downs with contractors to ensure system installation aligns with design and regulatory requirements. 

  • Commissioning Maintenance & Service: Coordinate, schedule, and oversee both preventive and corrective maintenance during commissioning, ensuring consistent performance and compliance. 

  • CQV Integration: Facilitate utility integration with Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities (including Site Acceptance Tests, SAT) to confirm functionality and performance. 

  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with CQV teams and suppliers to troubleshoot issues, review performance metrics, and enhance system reliability and longevity. 

  • Issue Tracking & Resolution: Monitor and document technical anomalies or system failures, leading root-cause analyses and corrective actions. 

  • Equipment Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance equipment performance, efficiency, and uptime. 

  • Documentation Management: Maintain and update commissioning, maintenance, and service records, ensuring accurate reflection of current operating conditions. 

 

Qualifications 

Professional Skills 

  • BTechMan & MarENG, or a relevant technical education within Maintenance. Also with experience with large building projects preferable Pharma. 

  • Solid understanding of maintenance, automation, instrumentation, calibration, and utility systems (black utility, clean utility, HVAC) 

  • Experience in engineering, commissioning, and validation within a cGMP biotech/pharmaceutical environment; competence in reviewing engineering documentation and equipment design calculations 

  • Strong communication skills in English and Danish 

  • Familiarity with GMP requirements (preferred)

About the Department and Team 
Technical Operations and Maintenance (TOM) is a department of over 140 skilled employees dedicated to operating, maintaining, and optimizing site-wide systems and equipment—ranging from HVAC, utilities, and calibration to general maintenance activities critical for FDLD’s success. 


Within TOM, our Utility, Maintenance, and Calibration teams comprise approximately 100 professionals, focusing on black/clean utilities, process maintenance, and electrical maintenance as well as around-the-clock site support. By leveraging production data and our proven track record of technical continuous improvement, we strive to elevate our equipment performance to world-class levels.
