Description
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the NSF-funded project: “Preparing High School Students with Autism for the Future of Remote Software Development Work” (NSF Award #2148720). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive, game-based learning tools that prepare autistic students for meaningful participation in the software workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support research on inclusive software education and neurodiversity.
- Design and evaluate technical learning tools for high school students.
- Develop and maintain software used in the intervention.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
- Publish findings in top-tier venues and assist in proposal writing.
- Collaborate with educators, developers, and neurodiverse participants
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Human-Centered Computing, Educational Technology, or related fields.
- Strong interest in software development and inclusive education.
- Ability to write, maintain, and document code (e.g., in Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Must reside within commutable distance to Clemson, SC, or be willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 to 7 years of software development experience.
- Experience with remote learning environments.
- Background in game-based learning or educational game design.
- Experience working with neurodiverse individuals or creating accessible tools.
- Demonstrated research in learner engagement or educational technology.
- Strong technical writing and publication record.
