Description

See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Financial Administration Division.   HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Perform advanced financial analysis for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).   
  • Review financial assurance documentation, and documents compliance of regulated entities with state and federal financial assurance regulations.    
  • Educate the regulated community of state and federal financial assurance requirements.
  • Prepare reports summarizing the results of financial analyses, designed for nonfinancial staff. Document analyses, findings, and work papers for hearings and settlement conferences.
  • Coordinate with other technical staff to ensure program actions are consistent with financial assurance program requirements.
  • Assist the Financial Assurance Unit’s Record Liaison with record retention and other special projects as assigned.
 

Qualifications

 KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working for a financial institution, surety company or insurance company involved in issuance of letters of credit, surety bonds or insurance products.
  • Experience performing financial analysis of financial statements.
  REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, economics, business, public administration, or a related field, plus six months of full-time experience in lending, credit analysis, financial analysis, budget analysis, or financial regulatory work.  Completion of an internship in the areas listed may substitute for the required experience. OR Certification as a public accountant (CPA). Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility.
