Embark on a journey within our Global and International Corporates Business Unit (GIC). As part of the Corporate and Institutional Banking Strategic Business Unit (CIB), this team represents one of the coverage teams aiming at positioning MCB as the reference bank for customers doing business with, in or from Africa and/or using the Mauritius International Financial Centre (MIFC) – such as Funds, Large African Groups and Multinational Corporates - by addressing their banking needs with bespoke solutions and high quality service.

Your responsibility will be to manage and develop a portfolio of customers by achieving assigned targets in line with set standards to grow its business value whilst mitigating risk.
In this role you will,
- Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues;
- Sell a range of products and services to significant customers and/or manage a sales team for a given area, with guidance from senior colleagues;
- Manage and develop important customer relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, and/or manage an account team delivering day-to-day support. Customers are likely to include large African regional corporates and multinational corporations, and the like;
- Provide a quality service to customers while identifying opportunities to secure new business or support retention. Responsibilities may include processing cases, dealing with complex queries, and investigating and resolving customer problems;
- Participate actively in the development and nurturing of networks and relationships internally and externally to support successful implementation of digital initiatives;
- Ensure the organization is not exposed to undue risks by using risk management systems to achieve specific goals within a designated area of the business.
To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems;
- Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions;
- Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals;
- Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences;
- Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations;
We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of;
Either
- At least a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Business Management or any other financial related fields;
- A master’s degree in Finance or other related fields or professional qualifications (such as ACA, ACCA, CFA) would be an advantage;
- At least 3 years' of working experience within a financial institution, with demonstrated focus on financial analysis, client servicing and relationship management dealing with large international corporates.
Or
- 6 years of working experience in corporate finance/ advisory within a leading institution;
And
- Experience of working with clients operating in African markets and in the Mauritius International Financial Centre;
- Strong knowledge of banking products & services including various financing solutions, transactional banking offerings, global markets and treasury management solutions etc., would be an advantage;
- Good understanding of the various financing structures and structured solutions;
- Ability and willingness to spend a significant amount of time for international business travel.
