  About this job:
  Responsible for the creation and support of high-quality, culturally sustaining instructional resources in English and Spanish that will equip students with the biliteracy skills necessary for success in college, career, and life. Focuses heavily on creating and delivering professional learning that prioritizes students who have been traditionally marginalized and builds provides direct school support to strengthen the collective knowledge and expertise of evidence-based biliteracy instruction.

What You'll Do:
 
  • Applies knowledge of culturally sustaining instructional practices and prioritizes equity to create curricular resources and professional learning that support historically marginalized students.•    Contributes to the development of a coherent K-5 English/Spanish biliteracy instructional program that is aligned with the expectations outlined in the Colorado Academic Standards, which are inclusive of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).•    Applies biliteracy expertise to develop instructional resources in English and Spanish that include unit designs, resources for teaching phonics, lesson plans, slide decks for lesson delivery, student materials, assessments, planning resources, observational tools and others as needed.•    Applies biliteracy expertise and leadership skills to develop and deliver professional learning sessions to teachers, leaders and other departments in on evidence based practices  (foundational skills, text-first instruction, and biliteracy).•    Collaborates effectively with other departments to ensure alignment and quality of resources•    Provides support and training for administration, reporting and data use of assigned assessments to drive language & literacy•    Assesses needs of students, teachers, school leaders and school systems; and develops and revises resources and supports to address those needs and increase the quality
  • Provides direct school support to strengthen curriculum implementation and use of biliteracy instructional materials.

  What You’ll Need:  
  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Bilingual - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • ELA-S Qualified or equivalent certification - Required
  • Knowledge with and use of Google Suite
  • Knowledge of best practices in biliteracy instruction
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment
  • Ensures strong alignment between standards/shifts, scope & sequence and assessment items.
  • Develops research-based recommendations for instructional strategies, professional development and assessments to increase the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
