Job summary

We are looking for a highly-motivated Disability Sports Coach who believes in the power of sport and the opportunities which the brand of a professional football club can give to local people living with a Disability. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering a successful Inclusive Disability sports programme across all of the Palace for Life areas.

Job description

As Disability Sports Coach you will:

  • Deliver high quality football and multi-sport SEND sessions within SEND and mainstream schools and in other settings such as Leisure Centres and other suitable venues.
  • Support players to give them every opportunity to access the relevant sporting sessions to assist with their personal development.
  • Maintain and update session attendance registers
  • Be responsible for reporting to the Disability Inclusion Officer on the achievement of a series of key performance indicators.
  • Deliver on SEND School Holiday programs that provide fun and interesting activities for young people with a Disability.
  • Commit to other duties required in line with the responsibilities of the post.

Person specification

As successful candidate you will:

  • Have a passion for supporting children and young people with a disability in achieving their full potential.
  • Have a keen interest in delivering football sessions for people with a disability.
  • Possess an FA coaching qualification minimum Level 1 standard and be compliant regards safeguarding and first aid qualifications.
  • Have experience of working with people with a disability in sport and physical activity.
  • Possess the ability to keep administrative data up-to-date.
  • Be able and willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
