Position Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive responsible for driving financial and operational performance, enabling sustainable growth, and maximizing profitability. The role oversees financial planning, reporting, controls, and risk management, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Acting as a strategic partner to leadership, the CFO provides insights to guide critical business decisions and safeguard the organizations long-term stability.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
- Identify and evaluate critical business issues, proposing strategies for growth through expansion, acquisitions, mergers, or capital investment.
- Partner with leadership and operational teams to prioritize strategic projects and secure long-term funding.
- Lead the development of financial strategies that support business objectives and pursue new commercial opportunities.
- Recommend operational enhancements and improvements to strengthen financial sustainability.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee short- and long-term forecasting, budgeting, and capital allocation to optimize resource utilization.
- Integrate financial planning processes across all business units, aligning revenue and expense goals.
- Ensure effective cash flow and liquidity management, maintaining strong financial health.
- Analyze performance trends, prepare reports, and present actionable insights to leadership.
Financial Control & Governance
- Establish and enforce financial controls to strengthen accountability and mitigate risks.
- Oversee compliance with accounting standards and external audit requirements.
- Investigate variances, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to company policies.
Liquidity & Investments
- Manage working capital, accounts payable, and receivable to meet financial obligations.
- Drive investment strategies to maximize returns while mitigating risks.
- Lead initiatives to optimize capital structure, debt facilities, and banking relationships.
Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, maintaining transparency and accuracy.
- Deliver financial insights comparing performance against forecasts and plans.
Risk Management
- Assess financial risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance across all business activities.
- Oversee contracts, capital expenditures, insurance, and other financial commitments to safeguard company interests.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable taxation, governance, and legal requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop finance, accounting, planning, and support teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally to align financial priorities with overall business strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role (CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent).
- Deep knowledge of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and risk management practices.
- Experience with enterprise financial systems and reporting tools (e.g.,SAP, ERP platforms).
- Proven track record in strategic planning, forecasting, investment management, and financial governance.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams in a matrix or complex organizational structure.
- Background in high-growth, multinational, or large-scale businesses preferred.
- Experience in retail, consumer goods, or similar industries considered a strong advantage.
