Principle Responsibilities:
Business Planning & Sales
- Responsible for developing a marketing plan which reflects the strategic objectives of The Langham Hotels & Resorts.
- Plan, develop and implement all systems and processes necessary to ensure the successful consolidation of the LHR’s Sales (both rooms & catering), Marketing and Revenue Management.
- Direct the development and implementation of the LHR’s consolidated annual sales and marketing plan.
- Direct the Sales, Marketing within the consolidated Marketing Office to achieve the objectives laid down in the annual sales & marketing plan in the timeframe specified.
- Instigate a system that provides frequent and relevant market research on clients, products, distribution and markets.
- Ensure overseas sales trips are effectively planned and co-ordinated to meet stated objectives. Participate as required and approved.
Marketing
- Ensure the product is effectively displayed in all Distribution Channels / websites.
- Ensure an effective e-marketing plan is in place and measurable.
- Ensure adequate coverage at the major trade shows.
- Liaise with the LHG (Langham Hospitality Group) Marketing team to ensure effective two way communication on all issues that effects the hotels’ sales & marketing objectives.
- Ensure Communications department to evaluate the effectiveness of corporate and unit advertising campaigns and to make recommendations accordingly particularly with regard to media and position.
Finance
- Top line revenues, occupancy %, average room rate, yield, F&B, other.
- Responsible for implementing and managing the strategies required to achieve the marketing plan objectives and meet agreed sales revenue targets.
- Ensure Sales & Marketing revenues and costs are effectively managed.
Daily Operations
- Direct, lead and supervise the Sales Operation.
- Monitors efficiency of Sales (both room and catering sales), communication, and revenue management team.
- Work closely with Communications Department to ensure all advertising material, sales collaterals, direct mail, promotional items or press material are compatible with the desired image of the hotels in the marketplace.
- Provide guidance, motivation to/and oversee Training programmes for all S&M colleagues.
- Plan meetings at a frequency that allows discussion and timely action where necessary with concerned departments.
Human Resources Development
- Perform human resources functions to ensure that staff are selected, trained, counselled and rewarded to maintain performance standards.
- Direct and control the Appraisal Procedure.
- Ensure relevant good information flows both down and up to subordinates, colleagues and peers alike.
General
- Liaise on a regular basis with the Managing Director & Hotel Manager of the hotel to provide guidance and share experience.
- Undertake ad hoc duties and special projects as required from time to time by supervisor.
- Ensure reports are compiled in a timely and concise manner
Perform any duties assigned by the Management deemed necessary
Requirements:
- At least 10 years in sales and marketing related operations, of which at least 6 years experience will be at hotel specific
- International hotel group working experience preferred, minimum 3 years in a deluxe property.
- Hotel Pre-opening experience preferred.
- Experience in same position is preferred.
- University or post-graduate diploma or equivalent professional hotel training is required.
- Strong yield management skills and ability to instill those in others.
- High-level market awareness with entrepreneurial mind.
- Prompt and systematic decision making skills with analytical power.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Independent & ability to work under pressure.
- Good delegation & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak & understand Thai would be advantageous.
