Position Description:

The Trager Institute seeks a Manager, Research Programs who will guide, direct, and implement all aspects of the institute’s grant-related activities and support work to ensure positive grant outcomes. Close communication with the grant leadership team, students, and faculty will be necessary. Leading regular training and ensuring the implementation of the grant work plan will be necessary to remain compliant with funder expectations and guidelines. This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon those funds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing, planning, and coordinating complex research grants at the Institute;

  • Leading and managing partnerships;

  • Developing and implementing grant related activities to work toward grant goals;

  • Updating Trager executive staff on grant progress and meet required grant reporting deadlines;

  • Supervising a team of coordinators and student learners to implement the grant work plan and meet grant goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work on grants, work with members of the community and older adults, understanding of older adult needs and healthcare needs, knowledge of various local community resources and services.

  • Previous work with professional teams and academic work to ensure an understanding of evaluation, grant implementation and work within an institution of higher education.

  • Expert level experience and comfort with technology, including working with others on the use of technology in order to problem shoot possible technology issues during remote trainings.

  • Organized and task oriented in order to successfully manage a project.

  • Great teamwork skills and be able to lead a team, direct, and mentor.

  • Able to delegate and follow up to ensure timely completion of all duties.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to build relationships working toward a desired outcome.

  • Able to analyze and evaluate the success of all strategies and be flexible enough to recommend changes in direction when needed.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and able to think through challenges, with suggested solutions.

  • Able to build strong working relationships with all colleagues, community members and the Trager team.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
