Job Summary:
Provide psychological evaluations, direct therapeutic services and consultative mental healthcare services to individuals, families and treatment teams.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Advises on population health related matters for target population (seen as content expert for this population of patients in the health system).
- Collaborates with medical professionals when needs of the patient/family dictate. Conducts and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Contributes to overall Behavioral Health quality of care by coordinating services and initiating and participating in quality of care improvement measures and procedures.
- Discuss school accommodations when indicated, access advocacy resources when needed.
- Documents patient care in the medical record according to federal, state, and agency guidelines.
- Establishes differential diagnosis, develop appropriate treatment plan and monitor response accordingly. Refer patient and family for psychotherapy as indicated, as well as to other SSM Health and community resources.
- Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families.
- Offers supervision of psychometricians, LPCās and psychologists as needed for delivery of psychological evaluations.
- Participates in developing policies and healthcare reforms, improve service quality, and practice evaluation. Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and evaluations.
- Performs clinical history and psychological assessment, risk factor assessment, psychiatric diagnostic assessment utilizing assessment tools as indicated.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Doctorate in Psychology or related field
EXPERIENCE
- Two years' experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements and squatting.
