Definition and Role

The position of Regional Manager reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations. This role involves planning and managing the clinical, operational, and financial performance of wound medicine programs across a defined region. The Regional Manager is responsible for provider scheduling, regional P&L performance, business development initiatives, and ensuring quality patient care across multiple service lines. This position will oversee ancillary support staff and administrative operations in Private Clinics, Hospital Outpatient Departments (HOPDs), Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs), Home2Heal programs, and Nursing Homes.

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee daily operations and clinic workflows across assigned regional sites, including scheduling, patient care coordination, and operational performance.
  • Assesses regional programs for adequate resource utilization, provider capacity, and use of cost-effective tools and products to support optimal wound medicine outcomes.
  • Manages provider schedules across multiple care settings, ensuring balanced workloads, adequate coverage, and alignment with patient census.
  • Assumes full accountability for regional P&L, including budget planning, financial performance tracking, and expense management.
  • Proactively identifies business development opportunities, participates in market expansion, and supports the launch of new clinics or service lines.
  • Conducts regular operational reviews to evaluate documentation quality, clinical flow, EMR compliance, and care delivery metrics.
  • Provides regular updates on regional performance, including project milestones, financial targets, quality metrics, and staffing status.
  • Collaborates across departments including Clinical, HR, Intake, IT, Billing, and Executive Leadership to meet operational and strategic goals.
  • Supports provider onboarding, education, and compliance related to federal programs, including MIPS.
  • Establish consistent availability to account executives, facility liaisons, and referral sources to maintain strong facility relationships and service quality.
  • Leads operational strategy across all care settings, including Private Clinic, HOPD, LTACH, Home2Heal, and Nursing Homes, tailoring oversight based on site-specific requirements.
  • Partners with underperforming clinics to develop and implement turnaround strategies focused on growth, efficiency, and improved outcomes.
  • Leads initiatives for EMR optimization, compliance documentation, and workflow improvements across service lines.
  • Serves as a mentor and resource to newly hired and existing staff; delegates preceptorship responsibilities as needed.
  • Develops and executes staffing strategies to promote retention, fill vacancies, and address census changes.
  • Escalates barriers to success and operational risks to leadership in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with providers, administrative staff, vendors, and other Regional Managers.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of company protocols, policies, forms, and operational procedures.
  • Manages the review of financial documents including invoices, revenue reports, and operating budgets to ensure accuracy and fiscal responsibility.
  • Contributes to both detailed and summary-level data analysis, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Respects and maintains patient confidentiality in all written, verbal, and electronic communications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in healthcare operations; clinical experience as a nurse is preferred but not required.
  • Wound care experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multisite or regional healthcare operations.
  • Strong background in project management and leadership of matrix teams.
  • Demonstrated P&L oversight, with experience managing budgets, expenses, and revenue performance.
  • Skilled in provider scheduling, resource planning, and managing team productivity to meet service delivery goals.
  • Experience working with patient outcome measurement tools, care planning, and documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with patient selection and management of clinical modalities in outpatient, acute, and post-acute settings.
  • Experience with start-up, expansion, and close-out activities for clinical programs or service lines.
  • Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in vendor management and oversight, including pharmaceutical, DME, or ancillary services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and comfortable with EMR systems and data tools.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility and Lifting: Frequent sitting for extended periods of time; frequent standing; frequent lifting up to 25 pounds; moderate to extensive travel via car.
  • Visual: Constant ability to read information, including close up; constant ability to use a computer screen; frequent use of good overall vision, including color perception.
  • Dexterity: Constant eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity to write, operate a computer keyboard and finely manipulate small objects.
  • Emotional/Psychological: Constant ability to make decisions and concentrate.
