We are introducing a new position in our team: Test Responsible Engineer, who will be accountable for control system testing of O&R projects and new builds at our Lyngdal Workshop. This role is a key part of our team’s commitment to executing high-quality, professional, and competitive projects.

This is a multi-disciplinary role that requires both hands-on electrical craftsmanship and strong knowledge of HMH equipment, including instrumentation/topology, software, and HMI systems. We’re looking for someone who can think outside the box—using their expertise to design, set up, and execute equipment testing in line with project requirements. A proactive team player with initiative and strong problem-solving skills will thrive in this role.

  • Key Responsibilities

As A Vital Member Of Our Team, You Will:

  • Plan equipment testing within the group, with responsibility for the electrical and control systems
  • Maintain and upgrade the control systems of the workshop’s test facilities
  • Design test setups based on project requirements
  • Rig control systems for testing at dedicated test sites
  • Support electrical assembly on equipment when needed
  • Deliver high-quality and professional Drilling Lifecycle Services
  • Contribute to O&R Norway being recognized as the OEM and preferred vendor by our customers
  • Provide project support within the business stream
  • Ensure project follow-up in accordance with relevant HMH procedures
  • Competence Requirements

  • Technical degree from a college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of HMH drilling equipment
  • Proficient in programming (e.g., Simatic S7, Cimplicity)
  • Excellent understanding of HMH electrical instrumentation
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Strong team collaboration skills
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent commercial and customer relationship skills
  • Proactive, with initiative and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong intercultural organizational skills and prioritization abilities
