Role Description:

CDSClear IT is the team behind the technology powering CDSClear – a critical clearing service within the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

We are looking for a highly skilled Technology lead to build and lead a high-performing engineering team in Bucharest. The Bucharest team is being established as a part of a broader transformation to a new operating model focused on more agile delivery. The new team will collaborate with colleagues in London and Paris to delivery innovative solutions within a new, external-facing digital platform using Java, React and Infrastructure-as-Code on AWS. You will learn how to deliver in a commercially focussed financial services business in phase of expansion

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, using Agile or traditional methodologies as needed.
• Lead the design and development of Java application components running on AWS.
• Collaborate with global teams to shape architecture and design decisions.
• Champion automation, from testing to deployment, to ensure speed and quality.
• Work within a regulated financial environment, with a strong focus on cybersecurity and production controls.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:

• Strong experience in Java enterprise application development.
• Solid understanding of AWS services and how to build secure, resilient cloud solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and services like EC2, RDS, EKS, Lambda, S3, Kafka, and more.
• A collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including code scanning, container security, and static analysis.

It would help us if you have:

• Built and deployed containerized applications in Kubernetes.
• Used Terraform in CI/CD pipelines in a corporate setting.
• Configured observability tools like OpenSearch or DataDog.
• Earned certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect.
