Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for RTR Quality & Compliance Manager (as internally titled).

Core areas of responsibility within his/her team include Automation & Reporting, Continuous Improvement, Metrics Management, Training, End-User Support/FI Super User functions, Process Analysis, and Process Development, Transitions (in & out).

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide regular guidance and support to team members regarding their responsibilities.
  • Continuously supervise and monitor team performance to ensure timely and high-quality delivery aligned with established goals and expectations.
  • Motivate and inspire the team by setting a strong example and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Recognize individual and team achievements, celebrating exceptional performance.

Performance & Development Management

  • Set clear performance goals, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual development plans.
  • Identify training needs at both individual and team levels and ensure appropriate training and development programs are in place.
  • Coach and mentor team members, helping to resolve performance issues or dysfunctional behaviors.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Develop, maintain, and improve internal processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure up-to-date work instructions are available and followed by all team members.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for incidents related to the RTR department and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as a project manager when required, ensuring adherence to project plans and deadlines.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Maintain a clear backup structure within the team, ensuring roles are covered and access to necessary systems is secured.
  • Ensure the Quality & Compliance team structure supports operational needs and business continuity.
  • Make certain that the team consistently delivers high-quality services in a timely and efficient manner.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Actively participate in recruitment processes, including interviewing and administering selection tests.
  • Oversee onboarding activities and ensure new team members receive proper training and integration.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional collaboration and communication.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and operational teams to ensure alignment and mutual support.
  • Encourage open communication, creativity, and a customer-centric mindset within the team.

People Development & Culture

  • Build and manage team capacity to meet current and future business needs.
  • Create an environment that supports innovation, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Enable employees to maximize their potential and contribution to the department.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support additional tasks and projects as delegated by the Manager.
  • Contribute to the achievement of department and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • College or university degree preferably in finance/accountancy

  • Min. 8-10 years in the relevant field (RTR, accounting, technical accounting controlling, other finance, SAP)

  • Min. 3-5 years leadership background

  • Min. 1-2 years hands-on accounting experience

  • Min. 1-2 years Project Management and coordination

  • Advanced communication level in English (both written and verbal)

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)

  • Having deep understanding of RTR GL processes

  • People management – leading by care and transparency

  • Holistic view of P&L and Balance Sheet management, big picture approach

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Logical thinking and pay attention to the details under pressure as well

  • High tolerance for monotony

  • Good time-manager and be able to organize his/her or subordinates day-to-day tasks

  • Understand core values and able to speak for them

  • Supportive attitude, being humble and active listener

  • Good interpersonal skills, able to handle relationships and wide network

  • Customer-centric mindset, looking proactively for partnership and projects
