Software Engineer, Search Modalities, Search Live, Quality (English)

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• Ability to communicate in English fluently to interact with local stakeholders in this customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an
  academic or industry setting.
• 2 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 2 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
• Experience in AI, ML, or related technologies.

Search Live is a voice-first conversational experience for AI Mode, which enables users to have a multi-turn audio-forward experience with Search.

In this role, your mission is to elevate the Search Live quality by delivering a leading voice-first conversational AI product that provides intuitive, fluid, and multi-turn interactions with evidence-supported, factual, and helpful answers.

Responsibilities

• Research for solutions to address losses in a horizontal manner.
• Conduct model optimizations using several different techniques.
• Collaborate with the team and cross-functionally to increase the team's impact.
  
• Train and debug Machine Learning (ML) models that power current and future search ranking solutions, specially targeted at personalizing the user experience within Search.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
