Job Description
The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI), Creative Services section is responsible for the effective and timely production of videos, training products, graphic art, infographics, animations, presentations, publications and reports It supports all executive level staff In preparing key communications that facilitate the department's mission in serving New York City's communities through awareness initiatives, public service announcements, crime prevention messages, body-worn camera video releases, recruitment campaigns, and public safety efforts.
Candidates will be assigned to the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information. Creative Services section. Under the general direction of the Production Manager, this role involves planning, creating, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating multimedia projects to assist the various public service awareness and community engagement campaigns. Responsibilities will include researching content and preparing scripts for video projects and podcasts, setting up video and audio recordings, editing and enhancing video and audio recordings, proofreading and copy editing video and graphic content, coordinating production schedules and resources and providing administrative support to the production team.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
