- Salary up to: $84,000.00 based on education and experience.
Position Summary
Agency Business Services (ABS) is charged with providing financial services to other state agencies in accordance with approved service level agreements with such contracting agencies. The Financial Manager is responsible for working with the ABS accounting services teams in supporting the contracting agencies, attending contracting agencies’ board meetings, and holding informational meetings.
ABS provides services for 65 state agencies, and this position will be responsible for working with 13 of those customer agencies.
Responsibilities
- Guides the day-to-day operations of accounting services teams in such areas as accounts payable, budget support, reconciliations, financial reporting, and other financial support.
- Meets regularly with client agencies. Makes presentations to agency boards and others.
- Ad hoc Reporting as assigned - such reports may include in-depth analysis of various funds and accounts or current accounting trends.
- Promote a strong customer service environment in the organization.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
- Occasional local travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree (4 years) in accounting, business, public administration, or a closely related field; and
- Two (2) years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting environment is preferred; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, in which additional years of quality work experience may be used to offset the years of formal education required.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess
Professional Certifications.
- Governmental accounting experience and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles for governments.
- Experience working with PeopleSoft Financials.
