Description

Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Master's, Step 1 - $58,962 for the 25/26 SY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year

Job Goal: To provide support to the Principal and Program Supervisor in the day to day operations of Hill Top Academy as well as to implement and support systemic initiatives to foster progress towards building and program level goals. This includes but is not limited to hallway monitoring, crisis intervention, input on  progressive/alternative discipline,  behavior intervention and planning, PBIS, Safe Schools Reporting, the RISC process, and working with teams on proactive strategies and intervention to create and maintain student engagement for learning.  

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Support the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the curriculum, varied assessments, and data analysis.
    2. Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.
    3. Model lessons in classrooms on a daily/weekly basis.
    4. Assist teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.
    5. Support teachers by helping them with educational and behavioral strategies by observing, modeling, and meeting during planning times.
    6. Informally observe, in a non-evaluative manner, lessons and provide feedback for a teacher’s professional growth and students’ success.
    7. Develop staff members’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through a variety of professional development targeted topics and designs.
    8. Support teachers and administrators in gathering, analyzing, and using data to improve instruction on all levels.
    9. Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other coaches.
    10. Work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including creating and nurturing a professional community of adult learners.
    11. Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.
    12. Demonstrate expertise in oral and written communication.
    13. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by Program or Team Director or his/her designee.
    14. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Master's Degree required.
2. PA Instructional II - Special Education preferred.
3. Minimum 5 years’ experience teaching, with a record of successfully impacting student achievement and working successfully with students who have the greatest needs.
4. Full certification in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), Safety Care, or other restraint management system as required by the assignment.
5. Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
6. Strong oral and written language and communication skills.
7. Ability to facilitate adult learning in a supportive and non-directive manner.
8. Proficient computer skills and knowledge including use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software as may be required.
