Job Description

To provide support and technical advice on capital adequacy-related matters, including assistance with determining optimal capital levels and related regulatory reporting and disclosures.

Are you someone who can

• Actively manage the bank’s capital base in line with strategy, risk appetite and risk profile
• Have ownership and delivery of all capital management frameworks including Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Plan ("ICAAP") and the bank’s Recovery and Resolution Plan.
• Own and deliver periodic stress testing process.
• Deliver a capital budget and forward-looking capital planning and forecasting strategies with targets that consider various stakeholder requirements.
• Work with Finance and stakeholders on effective capital attribution, allocation processes towards targeted business mix.
• Actively optimize both level and composition of capital (optimal capital stack) in order to meet:
  • External stakeholder needs (being prudential requirements, rating agencies, investors, peer)
  • Internal stakeholder needs (being: Strategic and organic growth plans, economic and regulatory capital requirements, regulatory, accounting and tax changes, macro environment and stress test impacts, issuance of capital instruments)
• Deliver peer analysis and market surveillance on capital related matters.
• Provide senior management as well as the board with key insights and analytics into the bank’s capital sufficiency under multiple economic scenarios. This will require development of robust behavioral modelling, balance sheet forecasting, financial reporting and stakeholder management.
• Provide analysis into dividend recommendations.
• Actively engage with Regulators and industry forums on market development initiatives around capital management.
• Deliver on reporting on all the above.

You will be an ideal candidate if you

• Have a relevant Post Graduate quantitative/financial qualification. (Mathematics/Statistics/Actuary/Finance/Economics or related).
• Have more than 5 years’ experience in a similar environment of which a minimum of 3 years at management level is preferred.
• Have experience and thought leadership in cross-Treasury disciplines a distinct advantage
• Have an understanding of financial markets, products and the pricing
• Have an understanding of risk, accounting, economic and balance sheet fundamentals
• Have knowledge and passion to follow latest trends, news, economic environments (global and local) and ability to translate the impact of change on liquidity risk and risk appetite, and banking operations.
• Have high proficiency in Advanced Excel, VBA, PowerPoint and Word, and possess excellent communication skills (particularly written) and good organisational abilities.
• Have basic understanding of ratings and ratings methodologies.
