As a Lead Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying data-driven solutions that optimize our manufacturing processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and implement scalable data solutions.Beyond technical contributions, you will also take on a hands-on leadership role—building AI and ML models, mentoring team members, guiding technical architecture, and fostering collaboration across the business.
Responsibilities:

Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights.
Design, develop, and deploy data models and algorithms primarily using Databricks, and also Microsoft Azure tools such as Azure ML, and Synapse Analytics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and operations, to understand business challenges and develop data-driven solutions.
Fine tune and distill LLM models for Vertical AI product use cases.
Implement predictive and prescriptive analytics models to optimize various parts of company operations, such as production, supply chain, and logistics.
Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Visualize data insights using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Stay updated with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and the transportation and logistics industry to ensure best practices are implemented.
Provide technical leadership, setting standards for modeling, data quality, and best practices.
Mentor and coach junior data scientists, fostering professional growth and encouraging knowledge sharing.
Lead data projects end-to-end, including scoping, planning, and delivery.
Drive alignment between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring data initiatives support strategic priorities.

Required Skills and Expertise:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in data science or analytics roles.
Proficiency with data science tools and frameworks, including Python, R, and SQL.
Expertise in Databricks
Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
Strong understanding of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proven leadership abilities, including guiding teams, mentoring, and driving cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Experience:

Expertise in Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure ML, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
Experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
Familiarity with IoT data and its integration into manufacturing and logistics systems.
Knowledge of Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
Strong communication skills to present findings and insights effectively to stakeholders.
Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects in fast-paced environments.
