Dragonfli Group is seeking a mission-driven Security Solutions Engineer to support boundary protection initiatives for a federal agency focused. This contract-based role sits at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and innovation—offering the opportunity to shape and secure large-scale enterprise environments.
In this role, you’ll serve as a technical lead focused on designing and implementing cutting-edge edge security protections, with an emphasis on automation and the integration of large language models (LLMs) to eliminate threats before they take root. You’ll work hands-on across the security lifecycle—planning, testing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise-wide protection strategies. This is a solution-oriented role where creativity is not just encouraged but essential.

Responsibilities
- Implement security protections with consideration for implementing certificate automations in large enterprises
- Provide guidance and leadership to determine, develop, plan, test, and implement protection and security requirements for the enterprise
- Collaborate with business and IT staff to understand strategic and tactical business, application, or service requirements, then translate those into securely designed solutions
- Ability to propose and implement creative solutions to automate the elimination of malicious activity that occurs in the environment.
- Provide technical guidance, oversight, and enforcement of security directives, policies, standards, plans, and procedures
- Develop project documentation including detailed security plans, detailed security implementation and deployment plans, test plans, and security-focused operational procedures and training materials
- Prepare justifications and business cases for recommendations on CyberSecurity initiatives
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Develop and present program status / metrics to USPS management
- Identify roadblocks and propose effective solutions
Requirements
Must-have:
- Skilled Communicator – Facilitator; able to engage and interact with all organizational/cultural levels.
- Good communication skills in dealing with Telecommunications engineers and business owners
- Consult with other members of project team and develop requirements documentation
- Experience in Cybersecurity technology solution planning, engineering, and deployment.
- Ability to effectively present technical information to many different levels of the organization.
- Experience with Change/Incident/Problem management
Nice-to-have:
- Complete change control assessments
- Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics
- Integrate change control activities into project plan
- Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
- Experience and knowledge of change control principles, methodologies, and tools
- Ability for problem solving and root cause identification skills
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
Preferred Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- 7+ years of security or cybersecurity experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience.
