Research Coordinator (HEXA project), Paediatrics & Child Health -MC

Introduction: 

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

 Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to assist Principal Investigator / Research Supervisor to investigate / establish the aims and objectives of the research studies, funding applications, manuscripts writing, coordination with collaborators, implementing study protocols, and data management/analysis. Specific responsibilities will be to:

• assist supervisor in developing high quality research proposals for funding agencies conduct
• conduct research and actively contribute to publications
• follow and ensure field implementation of research project related SOPs / guidelines as defined in the project protocols
• ensure proper identification and registration of patients as per study protocol; supervise and monitor timely visits of participants’ for follow ups, monitor and report protocol deviations
• provide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study
• ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the data; Develop and implement QA/QC plan with documentation and reporting
• preparation and compilation of study progress report in collaboration with the data manager
• prepare monthly project reports, present the study results as per the requirement
• prepare and present weekly project related activity reports
• actively participate and contribute to analysis of study data
• actively participate and contribute to draft manuscripts

Requirements:

You should have:

• excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• excellent academic writing skills
• self motivation and strong organization skills
• the ability to work independently and in team setting
• integrity and strong research ethics
• strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel etc
• willingness for travel to research study sites when needed.
• sensitivity to cultural differences
• ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
