The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team at Crown Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and progressive legal function, providing high-quality legal advice across all aspects of Crown Melbourne’s operations. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, supporting day-to-day business activities, ensuring compliance, and helping to navigate complex legal matters. This role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for:

Providing timely, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of business matters.
Drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts including goods, services, consultancy, leases, and IT.
Promoting compliance with legislative and contractual obligations.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to proactively identify legal risks and solutions.
Liaising with external counsel on complex legal issues.
Assisting in the development of policies, procedures, and training on legal matters.
Supporting the General Counsel – Crown Melbourne on strategic legal initiatives.

About You

You’re a confident and commercially minded legal professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You enjoy partnering with the business, solving complex problems, and providing pragmatic legal advice that supports strategic outcomes.

You will also bring:

A minimum of 8 years post-admission experience, including at least 3 years in-house.
Strong experience in drafting and advising on a broad range of contractual and commercial matters.
Employment law and litigation experience (preferred but not essential).
Admission to practice as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
High level of computer literacy and attention to detail.
