Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Financial Markets is part of the ING Wholesale Banking unit and offers a market leading suite of financial products. Our clients include ING’s own retail network, corporates, institutional, private investors and insurance companies.

Your role
The core purpose of the position is to manage all FM activities in the CEE region (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine). The job requires a deep understanding of Financial Markets products as well as real time experience in the FM sector/marketplace.  The holder of this position is accountable for the financial performance of the FM business across all CEE locations.  This accountability extends to ensuring that all activities are undertaken within the behaviour standards set by ING and its regulators.

  • Your key responsibilities
  • Oversight of and support for each of the 9 FM Heads across the CEE region, ensuring that they meet/exceed their respective local management activities, including:
  • Ensuring effective and appropriate communication and information sharing
  • Development of staff at all levels, e.g. performance management, coaching, training and development, succession planning in order to build competencies of Financial Markets employees to ensure that we have a strong performance and culture
  • Role model and championing the Orange Code values and behaviours
  • Active participation as a member of the local network and management committees.
  • Responsibility for adherence to both the letter and spirit of all relevant policies, procedures and guidance including applicable regulatory rules, principles, guidance and codes of practice
  • Responsibility for creating an environment that consistently supports the values and behaviours of the Orange Code, supplemented by easily understood business practices, supporting behaviours which i) do not damage the integrity of the market and ii) ensure the fair treatment of customers 
  • Responsibility for ensuring that each FM CEE location meets all applicable compliance obligations, and that appropriate governance arrangements, systems and controls are in place and for promoting a culture where all FM CEE employees understand their role and responsibility for managing compliance risk.
