The Role

You’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of our asphalt production facility. From managing teams and schedules to driving continuous improvement, your leadership will ensure we meet customer demands while maintaining the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence

• Manage daily asphalt production and dispatch

• Coordinate raw material deliveries and inventory

• Ensure compliance with production plans and quality standards

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of operatives and technicians

• Conduct briefings, reviews, and training sessions

• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration

Health, Safety & Environment

• Enforce HSE policies and legal compliance

• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits

• Champion a safety-first mindset across the site

Maintenance & Reliability

• Oversee planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns

• Ensure equipment longevity and performance

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement process enhancements

• Monitor costs and reduce waste

• Apply Lean or similar methodologies to boost efficiency

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience in asphalt or heavy industrial production

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

• Solid understanding of HSE regulations

• Technical aptitude and IT proficiency

• Engineering or technical qualifications (preferred)

Desirable Qualifications:

• NVQ in Asphalt or Plant Operations

• IOSH/NEBOSH certification

• CPCS/MPQC/CSCS credentials
