The Position

IT Business Analyst

Job Summary

Early 2018, Imerys has launched an ambitious internal digital transformation program. This program has reshaped Imerys IT landscape, encompassing 5 pillars: a set of common language and processes, a global ERP Core Model S4/Hana based, a common collaboration platform (GNOC, GSOC, unified WAN) and a common unified IT organization to enable a strategic & consistent partnership with the BAs & functions as well as simplifying and harmonizing the IT landscape. In 2021, a dedicated IT team has been set-up to accompany the growing needs of the Industrial and Sustainability Functions.

Job Purpose

  • Drive digital transformation within the Sustainability Function, with a specialized focus on optimizing energy and carbon data management group-wide 

  • Promote and implement IT solutions that generate tangible value for our Business Areas and functions, directly contributing to our ambitious sustainability objectives

  • Advocate for global IT solutions, ensuring robust data integrity across all sustainability initiatives

Your Responsibilities:

 

Solution Provider

  • Focus on business value rather than solutions to develop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, and business capability requirements.

  • Create solution proposals and blueprints for change requests and project requests

  • Specifically explore solutions for enhanced energy efficiency monitoring, carbon footprint tracking, and sustainability reporting. Work on business requirements and testing on corresponding projects

Interface between IT and the Business

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the EHS+Sustainability Functions/Business and build positive relationships.

  • Educate Business Experts about IT processes, roles, and capabilities.

  • Establish communication processes and channels across business functions.

Project Management and Execution

  • Contribute to the functional operating and project budget, and perform accurate budgeting and forecasting across operations and projects.

  • Ensure projects and initiatives progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes escalation and avoiding risk.

  • Measure and communicate business value realized on a periodic basis.

Service Management

  • Contribute to the training and development options and select appropriate methodology taking into account the individual, program and business requirements.

  • Coach and/or mentor individuals and teams to address development needs.

  • Aid in the transition of EHS+Sustainability legacy applications to the adequate IT helpdesk team once adoption reaches critical mass

  • Supervise the IT delivery and quality of services of the Domain in charge

  • Participate in establishing standards, best practices and frameworks to attain short and long term goals and vision

  • Aid in coordination and execution of  EHS+Sustainability management system DRP tests.

Qualifications:

Essential

  •   Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field with strong focus on sustainability, energy, or environmental management

  • 3+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives

  • Proficient in English

  • Experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications

  • Experience in data engineering, data integration platforms and databases

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Familiar with:

    • Sustainability regulations (e.g. EU CSRD) and policies

    • IT Infrastructure and cybersecurity principles in Industrial and IT Networks

    • Industry 3.0, Industrial IT architecture & technologies

    • Industry 4.0 technologies such as IIOT, Big Data analysis/cloud computing,

    • Business systems such as ERP and BI

  • Has previously held positions as a key contributor, facilitator, project leader, etc.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a culturally diverse global company

  • Conversant in French or another European language would be advantageous

  • Ideally with a first experience on Energy and Carbon Accounting

    • Previous experience in implementing or using Sustainability Data Management Systems (e.g. Enablon)
