Regular M-F 8 AM-5 PM biweekly with noon-8:30 PM on alternate weeks. Monthly 8:00 AM-8:00 PM Saturday shift with scheduling accommodations for a 40-hour week.
Pay Range
$26.10 - $39.15Provides comprehensive spiritual care to patients, their loved ones, and medical center/clinic personnel. Participates in on-call, worship, advance directive and administrative call rotations as assigned. Functions as a colleague in ministry with Clinical Pastoral Education students at all levels.
Education / Experience:
- B.A. or B.S. degree from accredited college or university;
- M.Div. or equivalent theological degree from an ATS accredited Seminary, School of Divinity, or equivalent;
- minimum 4 units of Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. certified Clinical Pastoral Education.
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: Eligible for certification as Board Certified Chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains, with completed board certification preferred.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs daily pastoral visitation in assigned clinical areas; provides sacramental ministry as requested or deemed appropriate.
2. Ensures appropriate and timely response and follow-up to all referrals.
3. Works with Health Care Liaison to co-ordinate ministries between community clergy and hospitalized members of their congregations.
4. Provides in-service education and spiritual support groups in assigned clinical areas in consultation with Associate Director for Clinical Services.
5. Enters appropriate notes in patient record in a timely fashion; maintains and submits required statistical data.
6. Participates in regular departmental and supervisory meetings.
7. Contributes to the provision of excellent patient-centered care as a member of the health care team.
8. Participates in on-call and worship rotations as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications: Ordination or commission to function from recognized denomination /ecclesiastical authority, and in good standing with same; faith group endorsement; ability to work collegially with multiple-staff team; commitment to the mission of the department and division.
Work Environment: Regular contact with persons in a wide variety of crisis situations, and under significant emotional stress; on-call as scheduled; may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases; may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens; protective equipment as directed by medical personnel when visiting designated patients; frequent exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements.
