RN, PRE-ADMISSION TESTING - RECOVERY ROOM - FT DAYS (56749)

Job Summary:

Responsible for the interview and assessment preoperatively for the surgical patient.

Responsible for the screening process of scheduled surgical patients. Responsible to obtain testing information from primary physician and past medical visits as needed.

1. 7.   Provides leadership and autonomy in the professional practice setting and the profession.

3. 9.   Completes screening telephone calls on scheduled surgical patients
4. 10.  Orders lab work appropriately
5. 11.  Initiates appropriate orders.
6. 12.  Accurately completes the PAT/Preop Checklist
7. 13.  Is able to prioritize telephone calls based on date and urgency of lab work completion.
8. 14.  Reports patient concerns to Preanesthesia Testing Nurse Liaison and anesthesiologist.
9. 15.  Independently follows up on appropriate needs for patients.
10. 16.  Flexible to assist and relieve nurses in all areas of PACU department as directed by Manager during high census times and vacation.

Education Requirements And Other Requirements:

Education Level: Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Certification/Licensure:     Illinois licensed or eligible.

Cpr Certification Required

• ACLS provider status preferred
• PALS provider status preferred
• Experience Requirements: Minimum one year of PACU experience preferred
• Critical care experience preferred
