Student Government Association – Director of Student Media – Fall 2025Job Description Summary
Pursuant to Article VI, Section 9 of The Constitution of The Student Body of Florida Polytechnic University; "Unless a more restrictive standard is stated in the Constitution, to be eligible for an office within Student Government Association, a student must have and maintain an overall 2.5 grade point average on al work attempted as a member of the Student Body and conform to all requirements imposed by the Department of Student Affairs. Candidates for the offices of the Executive Branch shall have completed a minimum of three (3) academic semesters, excluding summer semesters, at Florida Polytechnic University.Application is open on August 26, 2025, and will end on September 9, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Candidates will be chosen using ranked voting.

Job Description
Director of Student Media
Job Description: The Director of Student Media is responsible for developing a working relationship with both students and faculty/staff at Florida Poly, developing campaigns and advertising strategies, and managing the Executive Branch’s initiatives. Additionally, they will serve as a marketing liaison for the entire Student Government Association and its Agencies both internal and external.
Role And Responsibilities:
- Assist in the oversight of student media line item and develop adequate financial records of all expenditures related to marketing and advertising.
- Manage the Student Media Department, which includes a staff of 3.
- Oversee the production of Student Government Association’s marketing and advertising.
- Work cohesively with the other entities within the Student Government Association.
- Maintain and help create open lines of communication with members of the Student Body and Florida Poly faculty/staff.
- Perform any other duties as necessary to execute the mission of the Executive Branch.
Qualifications And Education Requirements:
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must not be under current disciplinary probation, suspension, or expulsion.
- The Director of Student Media should have a working understanding of the Executive Branch Handbook and the Department of Student Media Handbook.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Must be able to think critically and logically in any given situation.
- Experience working with a team.
- Ability to take initiative in the workplace and create strategic goals.
