Material Handler (Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving)

Since 1976, Natvar, A TekniPlex Healthcare Company, located in Clayton, NC, has been producing medical tubing for a wide range of medical device applications including IV therapy, respiratory, dialysis, anesthesia, diagnostic and surgical equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
• Inspect shipments for damage and defects.
• Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.
• Read and fill requisitions for stock items. Verify accuracy of orders pulled.
• Load and unload delivery truck by hand or by use of hand truck.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, carrying, etc.
• Detect needed repairs on vehicles and equipment by following established inspection procedures.
• May be involved in purchasing activities such as ordering and stocking supplies.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education / Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent GED certification.
• Requires 1-2 years of experience in warehouse environment.
• Prior forklift experience a MUST.
• Must be self-motivated and have good organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, web applications for brokerage services and purchasing.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit and frequently required to stand; walk; use hands & fingers; talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration and/or toxic, flammable chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be required to wear ear plugs occasionally. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
