Job Description:
The Salvation Army is seeking a Business Transformation Project Director to join our Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). We are looking for a senior Project Management professional with a strong background in strategic consulting, governance, and transformational project delivery. This role works closely with senior leaders to shape and execute high-impact initiatives aligned with our strategic plan. As a trusted advisor, you will design project frameworks, engage with cross-functional teams, and ensure governance structures are in place to drive measurable outcomes and benefits. This is a unique opportunity to influence change and bring expertise in project execution and strategic transformation.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Consulting – Serve as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, supporting initiatives from ideation to execution with a focus on outcomes and benefits realization.
Governance Leadership – Design and lead governance structures and forums to ensure transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making.
Project Framework Design – Develop tailored project approaches using best practices, templates, and methodologies aligned with EPMO standards.
Portfolio Oversight – Maintain a high-level view of all strategic projects to identify risks, patterns, and opportunities for executive attention.
Benefits Realization – Collaborate with stakeholders to define, measure, and ensure the realization of expected benefits.
Stakeholder Engagement – Build and manage relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, ensuring alignment and continuous feedback.
Project Execution – Lead strategic projects, managing scope, risks, and change to deliver results.
Continuous Improvement – Contribute to the evolution of EPMO frameworks, tools, and processes through insights and feedback.
Change Enablement – Partner with change leaders to embed change management practices into project delivery.
Consulting Oversight – Provide guidance and quality assurance to contract project managers to ensure consistency and excellence.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven ability to align project execution with organizational strategy and long-term goals.
Experience working with senior leaders and facilitating strategic planning and prioritization.
Strong understanding of governance structures and experience leading executive-level forums.
10+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with measurable outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Project Management and Change Management certifications are assets.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience communicating to executive audiences.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including benefits analysis and risk mitigation.
Ability to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience driving transformational change and embedding change practices into project delivery.
Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector is highly desirable, with a commitment to mission-driven work.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $135,102.26 to $168,877.83 with a maximum of $202,653.39.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
