Seeking students interested in gaining practical experience in technical support, service desk platforms, project coordination, and enterprise business systems.
- Position: JIRA Service Desk Administrator Intern
- Duration: 9/29/2025 – 4/24/2026 with potential to extend
- Part time, working 15 – 29 hours/week
- Location: Remote, based in Michigan (Eastern Time Zone)
- Wage: $15/hour
The company is currently not authorized to support remote work employees in the following locations: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Delaware, Idaho, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, Utah, and Wyoming.
The student internship program accepts international students with up-to-date work authorization for off-campus employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day administration of Atlassian JIRA and related tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Support the configuration and customization of JIRA projects, workflows, screens, fields, and permissions.
- Help create and manage dashboards, filters, and reports to meet team and stakeholder requirements.
- Maintain user accounts, roles, and access permissions in accordance with internal policies.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business users to gather requirements and implement JIRA solutions.
- Perform regular audits and clean-up of JIRA instances to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve JIRA-related issues reported by users.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Assist in testing and deploying JIRA plug-ins and integrations.
- Stay updated on Atlassian product changes and suggest improvements.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Interest in healthcare information technology as a career path.
- 1 year commitment preferred.
- Basic understanding of project management tools and concepts (Agile/Scrum knowledge is a plus).
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence is preferred.
- Exposure to scripting (e.g. Python) or automation tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively build rapport in a remote working environment.
- Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Enjoy learning in a fast-paced environment.
- Be legally eligible to work in the US and off-campus.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital tools like Zoom, JIRA, Confluence, HubSpot CRM, Microsoft Outlook, and Teams.
- Proficiency using computer programs like Java, SQL, R, and Python.
