Esri is looking for an experienced Product Designer who is passionate about user-centered design, interaction design and transforming user insights into impactful usable GIS solutions. In this role you'll work closely with product owners, product engineers, developers and other designers to create a modern enterprise experience enabling organizations to make sense of their geographic data through spatial analysis, mapping visualization, and authoritative data management in both 2D and 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design projects from brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping through to implementation
  • Produce high fidelity visuals that are consistent across apps and conform to platform conventions
  • Collaborate closely with product engineers and developers to ensure a high-quality user experience and implementation
  • Effectively organize and communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to the wider development teams
  • Influence the shape of the product with research and data
  • Facilitate design exercises that encourage participatory and iterative design techniques
  • Work closely with design and product leadership to become a key player in determining the future direction of Esri’s field applications  

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience designing applications
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
  • Proven knowledge of user-centered design principles and platform interface guidelines
  • Proficient skills with design software Figma
  • Experience creating diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface design
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to solve problems in collaboration with a team of designers, engineers, and QA as well as with business stakeholders  
  • Bachelor’s degree in human factors, interaction design or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Enterprise application design experience
  • Experience designing mapping applications
  • Experience with accessibility and internationalization
  • Familiarity with GIS and the ArcGIS platform
  • Understanding of Microsoft's Win32 and UWP Design Guidelines
  • Familiarity with front end development technologies, CSS, HTML, Javascript, etc.  
  • Familiarity with Windows development technology, e.g., XAML, WPF

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is$70,720$114,400 USD
