Overview

The Solution Engineering Lead for PSSP is responsible for leading and managing the strategic design, development, and integration of Pfizer’s Patient Support Services Platform. This secure, cloud-based infrastructure supports the management of patient data, operational workflows, and analytics across multiple therapeutic areas.

This leadership role is central to driving the technical roadmap and delivering scalable digital solutions that support Pfizer’s patient engagement initiatives. The Solution Engineering Lead manages a team of technical experts and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure the successful execution of complex, multi-system integrations.

Key responsibilities include overseeing data enablement processes such as ingestion, preprocessing, and transformation of PHI/PII data from platforms like Polaris CRM, IQVIA, AWS Connect, and Specialty Pharmacy Providers. The role also manages platform operations including DevOps staffing and vendor coordination. Additionally, the Solution Engineering Lead is responsible for orchestrating reporting and dashboard delivery for key programs, ensuring timely and accurate insights that drive decision-making and operational excellence.

What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain the strategy for PSSP tools, components, and capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to drive business value through technology, anticipating customer needs.

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end product vision and strategic roadmap for PSSP tools, components, and capabilities.

  • Innovate and architect technical solutions that address stakeholder needs while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and Pfizer's technology strategies.

  • Develop detailed technical specifications, system architectures, and implementation plans for immersive solutions.

  • Oversee the implementation of digital solutions by development teams, ensuring adherence to the defined technical architecture and design principles. Identify opportunities to drive business value through technology, anticipating internal and external customer needs.

  • Participate in technology selection process including tool evaluation, vendor evaluation, contracting and implementation.

  • Provide technical leadership on multiple concurrent application development projects in support of the portfolio.

  • Collaborate in a matrixed, geographically distributed environment.

  • Lead projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical experts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.  

  • Define project scope, assemble teams, manage vendors, and oversee execution.

  • Maintain project governance, prioritization, and expansion into new regions or business areas.

  • Ensure client and user satisfaction across initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with commercial and digital processes and financial procedures.

  • Manage project budgets and actual spend.

  • Review functional and technical designs to ensure usability and alignment with business vision.

  • Provide oversight and guidance to project teams delivering approved initiatives.

  • Leverage their influence, business alignment and expertise to manage across multiple matrixed teams to provide solutions that balance quality, speed and compliance.  

  • Actively participate in program governance to transparently track and communicate project goals, status, impact, etc. to stakeholders at all levels

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology Management.

  • 10+ years of extensive experience in solution architecture, technical design, and implementation of complex software systems.

  • 10+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements definition, and/or project management.

  • Experience with AWS Glue, Dataiku, and IICS for data integration and ETL pipeline development.

  • Proficiency in Tableau and Power BI for dashboard development and operational reporting.

  • Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud or Service Cloud

  • Proven success delivering solutions using Agile development methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Disciplined Agile).

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.

  • Strong financial and budget acumen.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

  • Experience with commercial processes in pharmaceutical companies.

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent agile certification.

  • High awareness of internal and external technology trends.

  • Understanding of PHI/PII handling, HIPAA compliance, and secure data transmission protocols.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage technical leaders and develop talent.

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
