As a paint technician, you will play a vital role in safely delivering exceptional finish to paint jobs on vehicles, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer expectations.

As an automotive painter, you will be responsible for auto body work and performing a variety of tasks to ensure flawless paint application and the creation of stunning car finishes. Your main responsibilities on the job will include:

  • Surface Preparation: Your expertise in a smooth vehicle surface preparation is crucial for achieving flawless paint jobs. You will be responsible for cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces, ensuring they are smooth and ready for painting. By meticulously preparing the smooth surface, you will lay the foundation for impeccable paint application.
  • Mixing and Color Matching: As an auto body paint technician, you will demonstrate your exceptional color matching skills utilizing the vehicle’s original color code or by creating custom shades.  Using a computerized color-matching systems and following manufacturer specifications will help achieve accurate results. You will mix and color match paint colors to achieve accurate color reproduction, ensuring a seamless blend with the vehicle's existing paint. Your ability to achieve precise color matching will contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of the finished product.
  • Paint Application Techniques: Utilizing a variety of prep work and paint application techniques, including spraying, solvents, and clear coats using spray guns or other specialized equipment. Use proper spraying techniques to achieve an even, flawless finish. Your skilled application techniques will ensure even and consistent paint coats, polish, enhancing the overall appearance of the vehicle.
  • Finishing and Polishing: Remove masking materials and inspect for overspray or imperfections. Sand and buff painted surfaces to achieve a high-gloss, smooth finish. Perform touch-ups as needed to correct minor flaws or inconsistencies.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is essential in achieving high-quality paint finishes. You will meticulously inspect your work, ensuring that there are no paint defects, such as scratches, chips, or unevenness. Your commitment to detail will result in exceptional outcomes that exceed customer expectations.
  • Equipment Proficiency and Maintenance: As an Auto Body Paint Technician, you will be skilled in using paint mixing systems and other painting tools. Your expertise with these tools will allow you to perform tasks efficiently, ensuring precise paint application and a professional finish. Additionally, you will be responsible for regularly cleaning and maintaining spray guns, paint booths, and other equipment. You will also ensure that all tools are functioning safely and effectively to meet the highest quality standards.
  • Paint Defect Repair: In addition to paint application, you will be responsible for repairing paint defects. Your expertise in addressing issues such as scratches, chips, and dents will contribute to the overall quality of the vehicle's paint job. Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of body shop experience is strongly preferred.
