Job Family Definition:
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Partner and develops a mutually beneficial relationship in alignment with HPE business priorities. Drives end-to-end revenue, HPE profitability, and pipeline through joint business plans and data-driven sales efforts. Articulates both HPE global and local business strategies to effectively “sell with”, “sell to”, and “sell through” the Partner, creating a scalable selling ecosystem. Develops knowledge of Partner priorities, industry trends, IT landscape, IT investment strategy, HPE priorities, and HPE Technology to differentiate HPE from competitors. Coordinates and executes HPE activities with the Partner, leveraging HPE PBMs when needed.
Aligns field sales to drive increased value to HPE for pipeline and revenue/profit growth while leveraging the collective strength of the partner ecosystem. Leads HPE strategy, programs, and systems with and on behalf of the Partner to assure accelerated financial outcomes and build partner loyalty to HPE. These jobs focus on selling to customers through the Partner as an extension of HPE's salesforce, typically through work that occurs outside HPE offices.

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues and recommend appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitate information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle the most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the expert to the partner for a wide range of extremely complex information regarding services, products, software transitions, promotions.
- Integrates company offerings to become a key part of the partner's business and solutions; May be brought in by partner to sell company brand to end customers.
- Establishes and maintains account plans to promote sales growth
- Leverages partner solution stacks, partner intellectual property, and other capabilities (off-shore/near shore, etc.) to broaden the the company footprint in targeted industries and/or customers.
- Achieves assigned quota for company products, services and software
- Transactional and relationship selling within, and directing, a team of selling professionals; physically visits partner customers at their offices.
- Grow the company business overall and the company's share of business by developing deep strategic relationships with partners.
- Creates, fills-in and manages the company's funnel for deals with partners and transforms potential leads into joint sales activities.
- Actively engages company resources and senior executives to build strategic relationships with the partner which ensures long- term business opportunities for the company.
- Provides the business rationale and risk assessment for making company investments in the partner.
- Works with the largest partners accounts for a high strategic value or high risk to the company.
- Ensure that partners are compliant with legal and SBC practices
- May drive SOW growth with distributors who are managing partners on behalf of the company.
- May recruit and develop business relationships with new partners.
Education And Experience:
- University or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Typically, 4-8+ years of selling experience.
- Solid experience in selling to partners desired.
Knowledge And Skills:
- Sales Acumen: Able to influence the partner by taking actions that create increased value for HPE. Effectively exercises selling skills such as identifying potential opportunities, utilizing appropriate sales platforms and resources, and formulating and proposing solutions with the goal of expanding HPE's business. Acts with a sense of urgency to build strong customer relationships and drive solutions for the partner.
- Account Management: Solid understanding of business and financial fundamentals to develop strategic plans with the partner that are aligned to customer and HPE strategies, creating increased business opportunities and value for HPE. Partners effectively with others in the account to ensure coordinated efficient account management.
- Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial accounting concepts such as income statements, balance sheets, revenue projections, etc. to assess customer financial health, identify potential risks, and position value propositions of HPE solutions.
- Sales Forecasting: Ability to look forward and anticipate partner needs, proactively forecasting sales quota and effectively bridging sales gaps.
- Communication: Professional, clear, and effective verbal and written communication.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines.
- Creativity and Entrepreneurship: Ability to innovate, think beyond proscribed solutions, and take proactive steps to advance HPE sales efforts. Ability to motivate partner's sales force
Impact/Scope:
- Responsible for accounts with a mid-high-level range of annual revenue
- Assigned average or higher size quota.
Complexity:
- Primary focus for partner sales on all segments
- Focus on partners with mid-high level HPE specialization and commitment
