In-Game Host - Calgary Hitmen

THE POSITION

The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation is currently looking for an energetic and outgoing individual to fill the role of In-Game Host for the Calgary Hitmen. Reporting to the Manager, Game Presentation, the In-Game Host is responsible for hosting and executing in-game content, working alongside the Game Presentation team to deliver a first-class entertainment experience at all Calgary Hitmen home games.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Host and execute in-game content as outlined by Game Presentation staff.
• Engage fans to participate in contesting and live promotions.
• Provide an entertaining and exciting voice to the Calgary Hitmen to work alongside a PA Announcer.
• Conduct live interviews with special guests, celebrities, team alumni, etc.
• Opportunity to represent the Calgary Hitmen at community events as a host.
• Host sponsor events around the City of Calgary in partnership with the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation.
• Active participation in the Safety Program and follow all safety rules.
• All other duties as assigned.

 

THE INDIVIDUAL 

The ideal individual will have the following background: 

• Prior experience with public speaking and performing in a hosting role.
• Working knowledge of the Calgary Hitmen, WHL and the game of hockey.
• Strong interpersonal and public speaking ability.
• Must be comfortable performing in front of large crowds and in front of a camera.
• Ability to improvise and quickly respond to last minute requests.
• Schedule flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts.
• Background in public speaking, television, or broadcasting is preferred.
