Job Description 

The University Health Network (UHN) Genetics Program specializes in supporting individuals diagnosed with or at risk for inherited conditions. Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive services including family risk assessment, diagnosis, management, education, and ongoing support.

We are currently seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant to support a subset of physicians within the Genetics Program. This role involves managing academic and clinical schedules, coordinating with affiliated medical trainee programs, and providing high-level administrative support. This is an on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced word processing and document preparation using medical terminology.
  • Manage physician calendars, including scheduling meetings, clinics, and academic commitments.
  • Coordinate training and call schedules for medical trainees in collaboration with affiliated programs.
  • Perform reception duties, including handling inquiries and directing communications.
  • Administer billing procedures and monitor budget records.
  • Maintain and organize filing systems for efficient information retrieval.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in a relevant field (e.g., health administration, office administration, medical office assistant, or related discipline).
  • Proven experience in administrative support, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
