Summary:
As a Sr. Manager in Production of cylindrical batteries, you will be responsible for inspiring leaders and teams in our Cell Assembly department to deliver planned production requirements in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner while meeting our exceptional standards of quality for our customers.
Responsibilities:
· Organize teams to execute the production plan consistent with customer expectations, while ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are meaningful, current, communicated and measured
· Regularly report and present to leadership on status of Quality, Cost and Delivery KPIs and continuous improvement action plans
· Collaborate with cross-functional leadership peers (Equipment, Engineering, Quality, HR, EH&S) on improvement actions to ensure salaried and hourly production team members are supported to achieve objectives
· Lead the management and optimization of critical production metrics such as Yield, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Breakdown Maintenance, and Process Down, through continuous improvement process activity including root cause analysis, implementation of improvement actions, and development of preventive measures to ensure operational excellence.
· Continuously derive synergy across functions within the Cell team to improve overall productivity and support operational excellence.
· Directing root cause analyses and control plans for all production abnormalities to prevent reoccurrence
· Ensure the manufacturing environment is operating efficiently and to its fullest capabilities by managing consumables, spare parts, and repair costs.
· Monitor the requirements and results for the weekly Quality review meetings
· Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly workforce planning consistent with production objectives
· Manage hiring, retention, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees
· Coach, mentor and develop the careers of leaders at all levels including managers supervisors and engineers
· Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards
· 5S: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
· 3R: Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
· Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in production/plant environment. *preferred
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading and managing multiple production processes
· Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or related field required
· Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours
· Safety glasses
· Steel-toed shoes
· Six Sigma certification * Preferred but not required
· DOE (Design of experiments) * Preferred but not required
· CAD (Computer-aided design) and coding * Preferred but not required
